It is a town plan from the Middle Ages, the enchanting small houses, the picturesque yards and narrow streets form a historically unique wooden town setting. The symbol of Porvoo – the red warehouses on the riverbanks – tells a story of seafaring and trading.
Your guide will take you on a walking tour through the Old Town and you will see the beautiful medieval cathedral. Take a stroll in the Old Town and explore the delightful shops and artisans’ workshops.
At Christmas, Porvoo offers local markets, seasonal flavours, and festive events. Winter experiences continue beyond December, with highlights such as the Porvoo Light Festival in February.
