Sustainability

Pohjolan Matka has an active sustainability program in place through 2035.
The purpose of the sustainability program is to establish clear and measurable steps for developing different areas of sustainability as part of our business operations. In addition, the program includes the continuous, everyday responsible actions we have identified together with our personnel. The program serves as a guideline for our internal stakeholders, while for connected and independent external stakeholders it highlights the important role that responsibility plays in our operations. We report annually on the progress of the sustainability program as part of our financial statements, and we update the goals and the entire program whenever necessary.

We view our company’s operations as a house‑like model, in which everything is built on the company’s values, culture, decision‑making, and operating practices. On this unified foundation—shared and embraced by all personnel—it is easy to build the externally visible “walls” of our operations: the practices we have chosen to represent our societal, environmental, and social responsibility. The “roof” of this Pohjolan Matka house model is successful communication with our stakeholders.

Our ISO 14001 environmental certification and the Sustainable Travel Finland label are an important part of our commitment to sustainability. You can read more about these on our subpages. We update the sustainability program whenever needed.
