Our journey began in 1961, when our founder Esko Lappalainen traded pig dealing for running a bus company — after all, ever since boyhood he had been fascinated not only by business but also by the bus industry, inspired by his uncles. The journey began with just a few vehicles, but today more than 200 Pohjolan Matka buses cruise the roads, and our team of over 250 people works across 17 locations! Today our operations cover scheduled services, charter transport, and travel services. We rack up kilometres all across Finland, from the Helsinki region to Lapland, accompanied by cheerful chatter in all kinds of languages and dialects.
