Experience the magic of the northern winter, peaceful nature, and unique Arctic activities in the Oulu region. This journey combines authentic local culture, beautiful winter landscapes, and the chance to witness the mesmerizing Northern Lights.

DAY 1 – Arrival and Northern Lights dinner experience

Upon arrival in Oulu, you will be transferred to your hotel. In the evening, you will head to the scenic Koiteli area for a memorable welcome dinner.

Koiteli is located on a picturesque area surrounded by flowing rapids, offering a truly unique dining setting. Inside a warm traditional hut with a large open fireplace, you will enjoy a delicious three-course dinner in a cozy and atmospheric environment. During the evening, your guide will share insights about Finnish nature, the local area, and the fascinating phenomenon of the Northern Lights.

After dinner, you will have the opportunity to go outside and search for the Aurora Borealis with your guide. The peaceful surroundings and minimal light pollution create ideal conditions for observing this elusive natural wonder.

DAY 2 – Discover Oulu and learn about Northern Lights

After breakfast, you will explore the city of Oulu on a guided tour, discovering its highlights and local character.

The day continues with a visit to the Aurora Revelare exhibition, where you will dive deeper into the science and beauty of the Northern Lights through an engaging and immersive experience.

The afternoon is free for you to enjoy the city at your own pace. You may also choose to enhance your stay with optional activities, such as a Northern Lights excursion on the frozen sea ice.

DAY 3 – Hailuoto Island and Forest Ski Adventure

Your journey continues to the winter landscapes of Hailuoto Island, where you will experience a guided forest ski excursion.

Using traditional wide and stable forest skis, you will move easily through the snowy terrain at a relaxed pace, making this activity suitable even for beginners with no prior experience. Along the way, you will enjoy the quiet beauty of the island’s winter nature and take in the serene Arctic atmosphere.

A light lunch will be served during the excursion, adding to the authentic outdoor experience.

DAY 4 – Departure

After breakfast, you will be transferred to the airport for your journey home.
